Alcoholic Liver disease

Alcoholic Liver disease

Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) is a serious condition caused by excessive alcohol consumption, leading to liver damage. Over time, it can progress from fatty liver to alcoholic hepatitis and eventually to cirrhosis. At Narayana Health, our expert team, led by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Yadav, offers comprehensive care and personalized treatment plans to manage and treat alcoholic liver disease effectively.

Fatty Liver (Steatosis)

Excessive alcohol consumption leads to fat accumulation in the liver. While often asymptomatic, it is the earliest stage and can be reversed with lifestyle changes.

Alcoholic Hepatitis

Inflammation and liver cell damage occur due to continued alcohol abuse. Symptoms may include jaundice, abdominal pain, fever, and nausea.

Cirrhosis

Severe liver scarring and dysfunction result from prolonged inflammation and damage. This stage is irreversible and can lead to liver failure.
